The last couple weeks haven't been terribly fun around here, so we decided to pack up and head out of town for a night to get a breath of fresh air. The coast seemed like a logical destination as its only about 2 1/2 hours drive and so beautiful. Although it was a quick drive really, we still had to pit-stop. We found a nice coffee shop called Mud Bay Coffee in Olympia which was perfect potty break for our big girl. We liked it so well we stopped there on the way back as well.
The kids seemed to be happy to be somewhere other than home. They were delighted to enjoy the pool at our hotel daily, and the sandy, although cool beaches. We discovered Miss Addison shares Mommy's love of crab cakes, she must have eaten most of the order herself! Addison was also so excited that the hotel had TV (we have opted out of tv reception at home), and loved getting to watch morning cartoons. She also was wonderful at keeping Finn entertained in the car, at times both kids were hysterically laughing at her antics and silly singing. Finn managed to cut his fourth tooth on our trip, but still slept 12 hours in his hotel crib and was so sweet, just like home!

Enjoying his break from the car, Finn took a moment to chew on his shoe
Addison was so excited to have her own bed, but wanted to share it with Finn

Feeling the sand on his toes
Right after I took this photo, I had to intercept the sand heading toward the mouth
Looks like you had a great trip. Glad you guys were able to get out of town for some much needed R&R!
ReplyDeleteWow! The professional photos your family had taken were great, but these are just as beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe one of Addison on the log is just amazing. That's going to be in her wedding slide show one day. And the one of you holding Finn while you and Addison walk toward the ocean should be on Blake's desk forever. Your family is BEAUTIFUL.
That sky is BLUE! What a beautiful day to be at the beach :)
