Hair Party (in sepia!).

After preschool today, we were blessed to have Lacey come by for family haircuts. The Dobelstein family were also able to join in and bring along the birthday boy to play, and see his Auntie Lacey. Kim, Spencer and Delaney were also able to join us for haircuts and cupcakes, a good day:)!

The big 2 year old man!
Mmm frosting!
Spencer was a fan!
It looks like Finn is reading very nicely to little Delaney...but he actually was very careful to not let her take his book! Oh Finn!!
You wouldn't know it by his face, but he just loved his cupcake!
Lacey is very patient with Finn and he looks very handsome with his new haircut!
Addie just adores Lacey and even modeled her bee costume for Miss Lacey!

"Go-GOOO!!"

Finn and Addie enjoy some racing time in their scooter cars! Such buddies these two!
A side note: I always tell Finny "I love you" when I put him down for his nap...and he mumbles something back, but today he said "yayy yoouu", which I took to be "love you", the inflection was perfect...LOVE YOU Finny!

Arboretum Play Day

Yesterday morning I decided something fun was in order. I had been up quite late attending a birth, and was scheduled to work at the hospital the next day...so that helped me decide to not work on the piles of editing I have on my queue, but rather take the day to have fun with my kids. No work, just play. Addie wanted to "go to the river" for our something fun, so I decided the arboretum was the place, as it has wading water which is what I think she was wanting. We picked up latte's and mini sparkle donuts for the drive, and just had a grand time!

When I gave Finn his donut, he said "thank you", and has been doing so appropriately ever since. He has been for the longest time saying "your welcome" in the place of "thank you". I have to say I sort of liked it when he had it backwards...and so did Addie, she was like Finn's little servant doing things for him just to hear him mix up "thank you" with "your welcome".

For me picture taking is fun and given my current situation, I don't get to take pics of our kids nearly enough ...so thats why there are a LOT from this one day!
He still drools occasionally, we think the 2 year molars will soon be in!
Looks like he needs a fly-rod, right Daddy?
There was a helicopter!
"Duck, sister, DUCK!"
He was soo excited about the ducks.
"Look Finn, here comes your duck, he likes you!"
And here she is!
"Mommy, I like being a model"....
... and she likes being silly too!

The Rain is Back!

After weeks and weeks of sunny and in the 60's (an amazing Seattle October), we had a little rain on Friday. The kids enjoyed playing in my room/bed while I packed up their clothes for Gramma's.

It was so funny, Finny crawled in my bed, and got under the covers and rolled down the other side "sister, siiiisssster!" (while patting the spot he set for her)...He can be so sweet to her (though he is guilty of the occasional hair-pulling and shouka-stealing)!

Addie wants this photo of her and her Shouka framed in her room. This little one is very focused on us having another baby. She so desperately wants it to happen. She has begun telling people that "my mommy's pregnant", I don't know how to prevent the spread of such rumors....
The crazy little man. Such a joy, we love to hear him TALK, and TALK he does! This little one still enjoys our morning runs and requests them each day; "go running!". I have my own little motivator!

Family Pumpkin Patch Trip

Today after wrapping up some work, we headed out for a trip to the pumpkin patch. Addie and I had a marvelous time at the patch with her class...but we were glad to go again with everyone (and we did a different patch altogether).
Found it!
Finn was overjoyed with all the "dumps" and tractors around. He also surprised us that he knew the word pumpkin "puhnkin"! He pretty much repeats any word we say these days, but he definitely recognized the pumpkins and called them by name!

Dentist Appt.

This may not seem blog-worthy, but Addie had her dental cleaning today...she was sooo excited to go. I told her in the morning that we would be going to the dentist and she said to me, "oh, is Jodie going to clean my teeth again?". I then realized that that in fact is the name of Addie's hygienist that we hadn't seen or talked about in 6 months. Our little peanut has quite the memory. When we saw Mrs Low and Spencer at the pumpkin patch, she couldn't wait to share that she would be going to the dentist later that day.

She had a great time, got an A plus for dental health, and got to hang out with the Dr and check out pics of his little girl on his computer while I finished up with my cleaning. Dental appointments sure are more fun these days!

First Field Trip!

Addie had her first class field trip yesterday to the pumpkin patch. We had a blast!
Addie and her friend Spencer
They walked all around just holding hands. Too cute.
Yep, we had a LOT of sun!
Her beloved teacher Mrs Low.
The duck races were a hoot!
The class met up at school in the evening with just the dad's for a pumpkin carving party...daddy made a Shouka pumpkin.
