Our Little Crewcuts Model!

I was going through my iphoto and discovered these rainy-day photos that I missed blogging.

Sister!

Finn said "sister" for the first time today. He often would say "sss sss" when referring to Addison, but today when he and I heard her waking up and coming to join us following her nap, he said "sith-her", and said it again when she came into the room. Yesterday when Thor came for a visit I heard him saying "doh" over and over, I guess thats his word for dog. I love hearing him pick up new words, almost daily at this point!

Crazy Boy in the Bath!

This is why I have to wipe down the bathroom each morning after bath-time. Finn blows bubbles and splashes nonstop!

Letters

Addie got letters in the mail from cousin's Mick and Chrissy and was so excited they had decorated them with Lightning Mcqueen stickers!

Island Day

The kids and I took a day trip to Whidbey, as we knew Daddy wouldn't be home that night until after 11. It was fun to get away from our house, and visit with Gramma and Grampy!

Finn likes to spend time with Bella as he doesn't have a dog of his own!

New Shoes On...

....and the sun is shining!
Addie has been wanting some running shoes like mine, so today we took a little outing to the Nike store and she picked out a pair. Now if they only made a sports bra in a 2t, she'd have everything she's been wanting for working out!

The weather is just so beautiful for February. 60 degrees and sunny each day is pretty awesome! We are spending most of our free time outdoors to soak it up!

Practicing her run!

Miss Addie always finds the pretties!

Burke-Gilman Walk

Today we decided that our perfect Sunday afternoon would include a long stroller walk. We chose the Burke-Gilman as our trail of choice and started at the U-Village and went to Fremont and back, taking a break to have Ladro coffee by the Fremont bridge. It was a nice 6-mile route and the kids both enjoyed naps in our comfy stroller though everyone was glad to get back to the car for snacks and Mommy was suffering from some sore feet (I had already run 11 miles and made a poor choice in footwear).

We let Finn try his very first chocolate milk...only, he was more interested in the straw than the drink!

Such a Daddy's Girl.

Seeds!

We planted some seedling starts tonight in anticipation of our spring garden.

Pants-Free Fella!

Finn takes any opportunity he can to escape his clothing or diaper change and run about in the buff.

Finn really loves to make noise and can often be found beating on the kitchen island like a drum!

He is really loving any sort of ball "bah" or balloon, "bloon", and often totes them around with him.

First Code

I found Addie using i-pod ear buds on her two cell phones and asked her what she was doing. "I'm fixing the hearts, Mommy." Funny, the ear buds look very much like the defibrillator pads I use at work...but not at all like the old defib paddles they use on tv! I wonder where she came up with the idea..

Ready for Spring.

We spent much of our Saturday working in our yard, fixing up our garden boxes and working on other outdoor projects. Addison loved searching through the dirt looking for worms. She told me "it's not for girls or babies, Mom, you better go inside so you don't get hurt". You'll have to remember that Addison considers herself a woman rather than a girl!

Bird-Watching

We took a coffee break with Daddy today and headed to Scriber Lake to walk and look at the ducks and geese. It was so sunny, that the pictures are pretty poor, and the kids are squinty. Addison had a wonderful time showing Finn the ducks though, and I couldn't leave the photos out of the blog.

My "Mini-Me".

Oh our little Addie is growing and changing so fast. Her conversations are always so interesting these days. On Monday, a visit to our very pregnant friend to deliver a shower gift left an impression on Addie. She told me later that afternoon, "I want to get a big tummy so I can put a baby in it and get presents". This statement left a lasting impression on me.
This morning I set out her clothes and got myself dressed and didn't realize I had us both in pink juicy couture hoodies and jeans. I asked Addie what shoes she would like to wear and she said "I want to wear my ugg boots like yours Mommy, so we match!". It was then that I realized we did match, so we both put on our chestnut uggs and called it a matching day.

Another Tooth!

First Signs of Spring

We played out in our backyard today, and Miss Addie was delighted to find flowers growing.

Sibling Love

"Mommy, he's huge and I can't hold him still"!

Daddy's Right Hand Man

I brought Finn out to watch Daddy built my new Greenhouse planter box. He headed right for the tools and sawdust, and seemed right at home.

Here I come to help, Dad!

Caps

Inspired by their new book, 'Caps for Sale', both kids tried on Grampys hat:

St Valentine

Blake and I were blessed to have an offer of babysitting so we could have an overnight getaway date in Seattle. It was wonderful to have a little break and celebrate another wonderful Valentine's Day together. We marked the occasion with lots of good food (the Stumbling Goat Bistro was wonderful as always!), chocolate, downtown shopping, and fun late evening drinks with two of our favorite law students.
The kids had a Grandma and Grandpa spend the night at our home with them. They too enjoyed plenty of treats and were sad to see the visit end.

What Superbowl?

We don't have TV or care for football...but we do love the snow. Addie had asked me on Friday if we could go and play in the snow, so this afternoon, thats just what we did.

Our kids love the sled!

Beautiful Snoqualmie

Snacktime in the back of the car. They were tuckered out and slept all the way home!
