Lavendar Fields!

A couple weekends ago we did the Sequim Lavendar festival as an outing. Finn loved all the live music..and Addie loved the flowers and ice cream! We had a nice day, though the ferry line was a little long (and it's no secret how I feel about ferries..!).
Picking lavendar!
Enjoying the fields with her Daddy:)
Finn loved the ferry ride and the wind on the way home as much as anything. Here he is jumping up and down..."I'm so excited Mama!".
Yep, wind happens!

Thinking about Baby Girl!

We've more and more been thinking/preparing for baby girl! Finally seems like we're having a baby...though we're definitely glad we still have some time to get ready. Blake and I had decided early on that I would not work this pregnancy (for everyone's sake, but mainly to try and have a term baby!), and that has been a real blessing to our family and we are really enjoying the free summer weekends together(though we seem to keep crazy busy!). Addie had one morning where she was concerned about just who was taking care of all those sick people at the hospital since I don't come in anymore...but confessed that she was glad that I no longer went there.

We are in the process of upsizing my mommy car and finding the appropriate nursery furniture/bedding for a little princess. Addie and Finn have gladly taken to sharing a room (I guess about a month back we moved Finn's little toddler bed into her room) so that we can all have a room upstairs and nobody will have to take up residence in our guest room!.Now we just need to get Finn's old room to look nice and girly!

We were blessed with some special handmade onesies for our princess. Addie said to me, "surely our baby wont be this small!". I told her given my history of smaller, earlier babies she's likely to be even smaller..."oh my!"
I sure wish I had a talent for the sewing machine!
23 weeks! I've gone from people not believing I'm pregnant...to hand magnet status! Huge!!
Today I had my trip to the perinatologist for my preterm consult. Things are pretty good and I have some new things to try as far as preemie prevention...It is reassuring to have such great midwives/doctors following me! The US tech said that our baby is about 1 1/2 pounds and has a good amount of fat on her frame for this early stage...she said usually the 3d US pics are not too cute at this stage and sent me home with many. However, I still felt like she looked a wee bit extra-terrestrial in 3d so I chose to share only this 2d pic from today's US.

22 Weeks!

Haven't shared a profile in awhile...we are growing for sure! Tonight we caught evening church in Shoreline, and the sunset after dinner in Everett...I think the kids were glad to not be tonight's photo subject!

Little Nakie!

We see a lot of naked Finn these days...after using the potty, he loves to run in the buff rather that put his undies back on...especially since it makes his sister laugh to see that naked bottom streak by!

This little guy, is so full of life and is so very fun to talk to. A couple more "Finnisms"..."honkey donkey", means "hokey dokey", and "turn cloud" (shouted at you in the car) means "turn it loud". He does have a definite preference on which music we "turn clous" to, too. He loves "guitar music", some favorites being DMB, Jack Johnson and the Black Crowes. He DOES NOT like country. He will pout if you turn it on, even though it is guitar music...okay Finn, loud and clear!

A Day for Play!

The day we returned from Oregon was ever so sunny, and we had to take advantage of the sunshine (good thing too since it really hasn't been around too much since!). We even talked Daddy into a coffee at Volunteer Park to enjoy our one of our favorite playground and wading pool.

Addie was just crazy with excitement...guess she shares her Momma's love for the sun!
Fun on the playground!
Brrr Momma!
Addie was totally in her element!

Sunny Beach Picnic

This was of course a couple weeks back when we had a nice day...it just the perfect evening to pick Daddy up from work and have a picnic in the still-blazing sunshine! We have to take advantage of the sun when its here!
Finn's favorite summertime snack!
A little baseball in the sand.
Bikini clad ladies...a rare occasion in the northwest~!

Big Man and his Sis

Our little Finn seems like such a big boy these days. Some of our favorite "Finnism's" of late...the way he says "no, I did no-ot" (the way he says it sounds like he has an english accent adding to the earnest manner in which he says this), how our independent little man must do everything himself (including climbing up into his car seat and working the buckle, which takes some time!), and how he worships his big sister's every move. This week Miss Addie decided after months of Finn's using the big potty when it strikes his fancy, there was no excuse for him not being potty trained...and she told him so. Well, that was our "aha" moment it seems and our little man has been doing his big boy thing ever since (though he is truly not a fan of public restrooms and that is going to take some work!).

Addie has been working on learning to sound out words and has been enjoying practicing reading to her little brother, who gives all his attention!

One last trip to the Beach!

Our Sunday ended up being our last trip to the beach for our coast trip. We tried for a Monday visit, but it was so windy that it was just not enjoyable (think sand in the eyes/mouth). We did a little family portrait session early in the morning (those pictures not shared) and then headed to pacific city for lunch at the Pelican Brewery and kite flying.

Daddy tried some beers at the Pelican.
Kite flying and playtime in Pacific City
Wow, the blues that our two different camera bodies produce are so noticeably different! Never noticed it before.

First Day in Tillamook.

So many weeks have already gone by and I've had so much photo work I've been wrapping up...that I thought I might just skip over some of the trip photos since there were so many..but I was reminded by Blake that the whole point of this blog is that we turn it into a book each year since, while I do blog I DO NOT scrapbook and seldom print pictures! So I couldn't live with the guilt of not getting caught up!

We had a very nice first day at our home in Tillamook! We:

Hung around with our cousin in jammies
Had our crazy wrestling time just like at home..
...Finn will never want for a brother when he has a sister like Miss Addie. It starts with Addie saying "push me brother!"...and then the ensuing madness that you see here.
Luckily they realized their baby cousin isn't ready for roughhousing though it intrigued her.
Most of the guys went fishing..and the girls went to the Tillamook Farmer's Market, and then high tea.
Blake was in need of a hang-around day, and opted out of fishing to hang with his son. While the ladies were at tea, my guys enjoyed some sun on this beautiful beach!
Finn enjoyed playing baseball around the house
Papa played too!
The guys did return with fresh crab for dinner!
