The Boys

Addison Gilfillan R.N.

Addison finds my work garb endlessly fascinating. Today she got her hands on my stethoscope (my very well sterilized stethoscope I might add) and had fun playing nurse. I showed her how to listen for a heartbeat and she was so excited!

Westport Trip

The last couple weeks haven't been terribly fun around here, so we decided to pack up and head out of town for a night to get a breath of fresh air. The coast seemed like a logical destination as its only about 2 1/2 hours drive and so beautiful. Although it was a quick drive really, we still had to pit-stop. We found a nice coffee shop called Mud Bay Coffee in Olympia which was perfect potty break for our big girl. We liked it so well we stopped there on the way back as well.
The kids seemed to be happy to be somewhere other than home. They were delighted to enjoy the pool at our hotel daily, and the sandy, although cool beaches. We discovered Miss Addison shares Mommy's love of crab cakes, she must have eaten most of the order herself! Addison was also so excited that the hotel had TV (we have opted out of tv reception at home), and loved getting to watch morning cartoons. She also was wonderful at keeping Finn entertained in the car, at times both kids were hysterically laughing at her antics and silly singing. Finn managed to cut his fourth tooth on our trip, but still slept 12 hours in his hotel crib and was so sweet, just like home!

Little Feet

After having such a little peanut of a princess, its amazing to us how quickly Finn has grown. At 7 months, the guy weighs as much as his sister who is over 2 1/2 years old. He has already surpassed her in head circumference and is now quickly approaching her in foot size. Addison doesn't have an older brother to watch out for her, but she will have a "big brother"!

Busy Boy

I can't stand it, Finn is just too cute and sweet for words. I love my afternoon Finn time while Addie's naps.

Though not crawling, he is moving himself. He does what could be described as a traveling push-up, getting the desired toys in that manner. He's heading toward the grass here:

Now what, Mom?

Beach Break with Daddy

Its rare to have 80 degree weather this late in September here. Being blessed with such warmth makes getting out a must. Today we met up with Blake for an afternoon break on the beach in Mukilteo. We had a good time, but its always hard to let Blake head back to the office. Addison even asked if Finn could go to work for Daddy so he could come home early...

Tried my best to keep his hand out of his face, but he's working through some new teeth!
She is such a Daddy's girl!

Our Sweet Girl

Addison is growing up too fast. This morning she and I had breakfast together and I asked her what she was thinking about; she told me, "Gramma, Weeby, Great Grampy and Uncle Bill". I guess even at 2 1/2, you know when something is not right with your family.
This afternoon she asked me to curl her hair, and give her "pink lips" (lip gloss). I had to get a couple pictures, though I have to say it is hard to get a good picture of a toddler!

Looking so grown up!

Third Tooth

Our little Finn has his third tooth; he was laughing yesterday and I noticed his top right lateral incisor had popped through. His gums are ever so swollen in several other spots, so it seems our little man will soon have a mouth full of teeth.
Addison is no stranger to the four hour nap, but yesterday she surprised me with a 5 hour nap, waking after 7pm. Blake had a late work night, so Finn and I had a dinner date just the two of us. Its fun to eat with him now as he is eating some table foods and can feed himself. Last night he had plain noodles and pieces of cooked beets. He is doing such a good job of chewing for his young age, its seems eating is going to be a priority for him!

Ice Cream

My parents gave us a White Mountain ice cream maker for our anniversary and we had our first batch last night when they came down to our place. Blake made a sweet cream flavor from our Ben and Jerry's book, and it was so awesome! Addison loved the whole ice cream making experience and gave the end result a thumbs up.

This week has been an overall rough week for the Cobb family. We find that when things are getting a bit heavy, its even more of a blessing to have our two little ones around to lighten the mood. Addie and Finn have been so flexible for us, skipping naps and spending plenty of time in the car and remaining happy through it all.

Saturday Swim Class

Today Finn had his first swim class at the YMCA. Our friends Kris and Sarah have a son, Aaden just a few months older than Finn and they had the fun idea of the boys taking the class at the Y together. It was so fun to be in the pool with Finn as he just loves the water!

Addison's Butterflies

While Mimi and Papa stayed with the kids, Addie and Mimi ordered some caterpillars so Addie could watch them transform into butterflies. It was neat for her to learn about the process and enjoy feeding and watching them carefully.

Happy 5 years

Today we are celebrating 5 years of marriage. While technically we already celebrated with our Laguna trip, today marks the milestone. We don't actually have our wedding pictures on our computer as they take up too much hard-drive, but I found a few pictures from 5 years ago to remember our wedding, and one picture from a couple weeks ago. Here's to many more!

Afternoon with Finn

After a busy morning of a little shopping, the dentist and coffee with Daddy, Addison was worn out. She was out by the time we got home and took one of her extra-long, four-hour naps. Finn napped for only two hours of it, so he and I got some quality time in just playing in the living room and the backyard. He is such a fun little guy, bouncing and talking the whole time we played!
