Chelan 2014

This past August we had a wonderful vacation week in Chelan. So fun that I get asked almost daily if we can go back and stay in the "heltel" by the lake again. Hopefully this next summer.  Blake and I have considered going this Christmas season since Chelan doubles as a lovely snow-town in the winter..Oh how we love a cozy Condo in the snow!

A week of no obligations, and lots of sun (except for two days of 80 degree weather and intermittent rains..oh well), and lots of family time was just what we needed before starting back at school. We swam, and sunned and had LOTS of much needed UNSCHEDULED time!! It was perfection. Our condo had beach access and a big kitchen, so it lent itself well to not having to drive anywhere.

We did take a 10 minute drive to Manson to see the sights and do some blueberry picking on one of the rainy days. Will have to be an annual event, it was a real highlight and is apparently (judging by reviews and the line out the door) the best place in the area to get breakfast and baked goods.

I've been in the busy season for photography for some months now, so anything to do with camera and computer is just stressful right now, but when talking with the kids about Chelan this morning..I was reminded of this trip and how I didn't want to skip making a blog post of our fun pictures..SO here they are. And on that note, I am not doing my 365 right now. I need a break from the camera.

First pic!! I think this was actually like day 3, since for the first few days we went camera-less..ANd we spent our second day in Chelan at Slidewaters  which is just a very risky place to take a camera. Slidewaters was perhaps the kids favorite spot however, they love those water-slides.
You can also see the haze in the sky following the forest fires. It was about 90-100 each day but so hazy from the fires, until our two days of rain that happened and cleared out all the smokiness. Much needed r
