We're Off!

Our flight leaves tonight at 10:30, and we should land in sunny Ft Lauderdale by 7:30 am Florida time and will return next Tuesday. We look forward to the time with my sister and Matt and some serious sun-time!

Addie and I tried to pretend we were in Florida this morning. The low-70's back porch just isn't the same! We are hopeful to return not so shockingly white!

The Stay- cation before the big Vacation.

This weekend we primarily stayed around our place as we will be gone for the next week. We aren't good at staying put, but did our best and found some fun things to do that didn't involve a lot of travel.
We played ball in the backyard
Enjoyed dinner treats from our own garden.
BBQ'd on the back porch
Brought in fresh picked flowers from the yard.
Addie enjoyed the gardens and got to pick a peony.
We watched the Seattle sunset at Gas Works.

The kids shared a nearly bedtime viewing of Shrek and popcorn!
We browsed the Everett farmer's market at the marina.

The kids picked out these honey sticks from the bee farmer at the market.

All in all, a relaxing, quiet weekend:)

Kayak Point

We had four playdates this week and on Thursday, the kids and I got to catch up with my friend Rachael and her daughter Leaina whom we hadn't seen in awhile(her new baby Jayla got to hang out with her Grammy). Rachael and I know each other from way back in my ortho and neurosurgery days at Prov. It was so fun seeing her, and Addie and Leiana sure had fun together. Rachael is also a camera enthusiast so we were sure to take lots of pics.
We had never been to Kayak Point, and it was surely beautiful. I hope to return when we can go with Daddy!

Evening Outing

On Wednesday Evening it was so beautiful, we had to take an evening walk. So we headed to Grand Avenue park, just up the road. The kids loved playing with Dad, and I loved getting some sun!
I am hopelessly behind on this blog, and will just have to skip certain events. I guess that may be my trend for the summer given that we are leaving on Tuesday and we return to all the bridesmaids duties/weddings hooplah! Going to be a fun, full summer!

Lovin Summer!

I am a bit behind on my posts, and just have the energy to add just these two pics tonight (I don't think anyone should have 4 strokes a PE and an MI in a day!).
The kids and I are loving the front porch sun in the late afternoons! I let them each have a flavored honey stick while we people watched yesterday afternoon.

Fun at the Thompson's

Today we got to catch up with the Thompson's and play. We had a great time as always and Addie is even more desperate for me to give her another sibling. Finn was fascinated with the baby, but was not pleased to see his mommy hold the baby. I don't believe he is ready to be ousted from his throne as the baby!

Forest Park

It is such a blessing to have this lovely park just a couple minutes down the road. Today we did the sprinkler portion of the park to celebrate the sun. The kids loved getting wet and I enjoyed relaxing in the sun and visiting with the other moms. We will have to return to the petting zoo and playgrounds soon!
Finn liked the water so well, he sat right down in it!
Even with the big kids chasing after him, he's loving it!
Clearly I couldn't decide color/no color. I like the bright colors with kids..but it can sometimes be distracting to my eye with so much going on!

Our Quarterback!

Finn got his first chance to toss around the football at Grandma's house this weekend. He has been a fan of all things sports/balls so far, so it was no surprise that he was a fan. I guess we will have to go out and get a football...

On the Farm

All kids enjoy visiting their Grandparents home. Ours are no exception. My parents live on a little farm of sorts with goats and chickens and extensive vegetable and flower gardens. The kids enjoyed the weekend stay at Gramma's and here are a few pics from around their place.

There are lots of birds and blooms to be seen on the farm.
Bird watching on the deck.
Pedicure outside on the deck.
I always loved this window and garden.
Enjoying the view from inside that same window.
Enjoying the back patio with Grandpa. Addie provided the butterfly straw for Grampy's drink!
The rooster that woke Addie bright and early each morning ("I can hear the chickens Gramma!").
The goats.
The goats were just as curious about him, as he was in them.
Bella
Every farm needs a kitty, and these days Savvy is filling the role.
