Day 269/ Backyard otter pops. We have been doing this more evenings than not lately. Out before bed in our skivvies enjoying the still-warm evening air and our popsicles. I think they will all vote for me to buy the Costco box of otter pops again next year. I will be sad when these evening are gone, but in some ways I guess I am feeling more ready for fall. It has been the best of summers weather-wise here in the pacific northwest. We have LOVED it.
You can see by Avery's attire that we are gearing up for fall. Finn's new backpack arrived today and Avery of course is obsessed with buckles, and also anything that belongs to one of her siblings, so she wore the backpack around all evening. Too cute.  Finn is absolutely delighted with his new 'pack' and keeps asking when he gets to start his new school..Just a few short weeks!

Day 267/365

Day 267/ Little Superhero. He's been asking for superhero pictures of him..and we took a couple! He's so sweet, how could I say no. He wanted just his underpants, boots and cape, inspired by something called 'Captain Underpants' that he apparently read at Grammy's. 

Day 266/365

Day 266/This smile is about to change in a big way..those two front teeth are ultra wiggly. Can't believe she will so soon be in the first grade. I'm going to truly miss having her around each day (we all will!). She has asked me to sign her up for ballet and swim lessons this fall, so given those two things and her now all-day school schedule, she is going to be one busy peanut.

Day 261/A Bike ride at Alki Beach

Day 262/School shopping has started...She has some definite ideas about what she wants this year. I am sad the summer is coming to a close so soon and she will be gone so much. ..but excited for her at the same tim

Day 263/Stopping to smell the flowers in our yard..Addie and Finn went to see 'Despicable Me 2' with Dad and Avery and I enjoyed our yard and ducks and some special one on one time. She really loves it (and so do I).

Day 264/Saturday night at Golden Gardens. Haven't been to this beach in years, but have a shoot there this week and it sounded fun to visit and also check out the light. The kids enjoyed the sand, each taking time to roll in it. We have piles of sand in our car still..

Chelan Trip

We had a lovely 5 day trip to Chelan with our extended family..Grammy, Grampy and Aunt Jacey and family. It was the first time we'd been to Chelan in years. I think last time I went I was about 21 years old, and it was ski season...no need to say how long ago that was.  

Chelan is just a beautiful little town and the lake is so fun. The kids just love being in the water. My parents blessed us all by renting a gorgeous getaway home with plenty of rooms for all of us ..and more (next year Uncle Jay!) . 

We did lots of hanging out, enjoying the sun, playing in the yard and lake..and a little wine each evening. We enjoyed a couple nights of thunder showers (it was mid to upper 90's in the daytime with lots of sun so the evening showers felt very East Coast!), and one meteor shower. So neat. I will note that one of the evening's thunder showers came with gale-force winds and sent our wine glasses and dishes and hot tub cover...and baby walker flying. It was crazy how quickly they came and how difficult is was to get inside and even open the doors. Even more impressive were the masses of trees (and not small tress!) that were pulled out by their roots from the winds along the golf course we stayed on.

One highlight of the trip was playing at the water park 'Slidewaters'. It was so fun for the kids to play in the water and do the big water slides..but there are no pictures of it as I couldn't exactly do slides and carry a big camera..not going to work. It was so fun to play with the four big kids (My three and cousin Madeline) and Blake and I and Grampy and Uncle Matt.
