Newport Beach

We were blessed to spend 8 days at a beach home on Newport Beach, Ca..So, quite a few photos that Blake and I took of the things we did there that I have just started to look through, but here are a few of the kids and us on the little beach right out the front door. The waves crashing were so loud...it was hard to get the kids attention and thus..the family shot is what it is..and Avery went in with Mimi as it was past her bedtime. I just wanted to take a couple quick pics of the kids in the sand, since all we have are the rocky beaches here in Wa. 

The trip was lovely, and I will blog more photos, and soon. We are in busy summer mode..VBS, swimming lessons, gymnastics, ballet and tap class and lots of play dates..and the big kids get to spend one day each week at Grammy's (plus more upcoming trips!)! So much going on, I know it is all just going to pass in a flash, and then we'll be back to school.

Big girl writing thank you notes to her teachers on her last day of school..I told her to sign her name..and I came back and she had written, 'Love, Addison'..and decorated with long-neck dinosaurs and hearts! Love her, and love how she has learned to read, and spell..and is helping Finn as well. That little dude can sound out words and when I forget and use a bad word spelled out..like the F-A-T word..they work together to spell it out. "You are not Mommy"! Yeah, I know, bad mommy moment.

Last Week of Pre-K..

..for Addie. There's still a last week of school at OSLCP, poor Miss Addie will have to miss school for vacation. Her class had a trip to the beach in Mukilteo, so I got a few pics of her and the few classmates that braved a rainy beach-day..

I asked both of her teachers.."you sure Addie's ready for Kindergarten". They both said she was both academically and socially more than ready..if anything she'll be bored. Shoot, I'm not sure I'm ready. I can't believe we are truly to the 'school-age'. 

Yesterday on her last day..we had some tears from her teacher..and from Mom..and finally from Addie. She said it was no big deal, most of her friends were also going to be 'at kindergarten', so she'd see them..she didn't realize it wouldn't be the same kindergarten:( We are thankful she has had such a wonderful school experience thus far, and are proud of how confident and smart this little peanut is.

7 Months!

Another month has come and gone. This month Avery has been busy teething, and has been quite clingy. In the past month she has spent much less time doing playtime on the floor, and more time on her Mommy's lap. She now has three bottom teeth, and two top canines, and two bottom canines open, but not quite through..whew! That's quite a few teeth for a 7 month old! I'm hopeful she'll catch a break here soon..especially with our upcoming travels. 

Not a whole lot new this month..but here's a few:

-She growls when she eats

-Waves bye bye

-Pulls up to stand when the opportunity presents itself

-Is down to a three nap routine

We were just hanging around the house, but I had to snap a couple pictures since it was her actual 7 month birthday!!

I'm practicing getting up on all fours..though I don't stay on my knees, I like to get all the way up onto my feet.
